Fuller Dome Home Museum

The proposed Home Museum will be a collection of artifacts that chronicles the years that Buckminster Fuller and his wife Anne lived in Carbondale, IL. We see the museum as a community museum that is concerned with the community's response to having Bucky and Anne living in Carbondale. "What effect did it have upon the community of Carbondale, IL to have the Leonardo di Vinci of the 20th Century living among them in a futuristic geodesic dome home of his own design?" We would like to be the repository for any artifacts that the community might have collected as memorabilia of their time shared with Bucky. Bucky and Anne lived in Carbondale from 1959 to 1971; exciting yet turbulent times in the world, our country and Carbondale too. What better way to learn about Carbondale during the decade of the 1960's than to have a museum in the Fuller Dome Home?
